Pragmatix undertook a facility review in support of the organisation’s business plan, developed the brief in consultation
with senior staff, undertook the master plan, concept design and selected and managed the consultant and construction team that delivered the project.
Centrally placed to bridge between two previous phases of development on the Mt Wellington suburban campus, the new headquarter buildings respond to the character of two earlier phases of development while establishing a new front door and distinctive benchmark for contemporary sustainable work places. The development is alive with ESD features, including mixed mode natural ventilation, passive solar shading, rainwater harvesting, exposed thermal mass, aquifer recharging, low E double glazing, occupancy and photo sensors, native creeper climbing frames and bike commuting facilities.
“From the day of opening the building has exceeded our expectations in respect of design, quality, and functionality.
Aesthetically, the building fits perfectly in the campus and surroundings. It has an inviting staff entrance and the shared
break-out area has provided a valuable social link between regional and national staff working together on the campus”.
